Після закінчення трьох курсів Харківського медичного інституту, продовжила навчання на медичному факультеті Київського медичного інституту, який закінчила у 1979 році з дипломом з відзнакою.
Наукові дослідження присвячені проблемам діагностики та лікування розсіяного склерозу, вірусних та судинних уражень нервової системи. У 1998 р. захистила докторську дисертацiю на тему “Клініко-патогенетична характеристика розсіяного склерозу, сучасні підходи до діагностики та лікування”.
Має вищу квалiфiкацiйну категорію з неврології. Веде лікувально-консультативну роботу у профільних відділеннях КМКЛ № 4, є постійним консультантом служби санітарної авіації при МОЗ України.
Член апробаційної ради НМУ „Нервові хвороби та психіатрія”, член Європейського неврологічного товариства, головний редактор „Українського неврологічного журналу”. Керівник наукового студентського гуртка на кафедрі. Відповідальний виконавець планової НДР кафедри з проблеми розсіяного склерозу. Відповідає за підготовку методичних матеріалів і проведення навчання з групами англомовних студентів.
Автор більше 160 науково-методичних праць, має авторські свідоцтва на винахід, деклараційні патенти. Співавтор підручника „Нервові хвороби”, методичних рекомендацій з нервових хвороб для викладачів і студентів, збірника тестових питань та задач з нервових хвороб для вищих медичних закладів.
